15-16 AD primordial holy churches are also most loved historical constructions for religious followers. All age group of visitors come to watch these beautifully carved ethnic Churches. Basillica Bom Jesus, Marry immaculate Conception, Reis Magos, De Cathadral and St Paul are some of the visitor’s favorites. Goa carnival usually held in mid of the February and lasts for a week time. Goa is most probably the only place in India known for its glorious carnival festival. To watch glimpse of various country’s history is a remarkable experience in its own during this carnival. The temples of Khajuraho were constructed between 950 and 1050 A.D. They were built during the reign of Chandel Empire. The name Khajuraho is derived from the tree ‘Khajur’ (the date palm tree) as in this area this tree is found in abundance. Originally there were 85 temples but now only 22 are in existence.

For convenience purpose, the village of Khajuraho has been divided into three different direction areas in which the major groups of temples are located.

Western Group Temples – This group shows some of the finest examples of Chandela art at its peak. In this group the temples are entirely Hindu. The largest temple of this group is Kandhariya Mahadev, which is followed by a granite temple – Chaunsath Yogini.

Eastern Group Temples – In this group of Khajuraho temples, two historic Jain temples is there. They are the Adinath Temple which is embellished with sculpted figures, and the Parsvanath Temple which is the largest Jain Temple sculpted with charming detail. Some other shrines are there like Vamana Temple, Javari Temple etc.

Southern Group – This group is having two impressive Khajuraho temples which mainly belong to the 12th century. They are Chaturbhuja Temple which is having a massive carved image of Vishnu and the Duladeo Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and this is one of the last temples of Chandela era.

One can easily reach to Khajuraho by Air, Train and also by Road.
